Skiing for Brent's Birthday!

Didn't y'all know that I'm profesh when it comes to skiing? I mean look at me!

Okay, truthfully my husband is the professional skier. He used to be a ski instructor back in the day. Hence why all the following pictures are of ME. We definitely didn't trust the camera in my hands. You never knew when I'd go down suddenly. :)

It was SUCH an awesome birthday all thanks to Brent's dad! His dad gave him a couple lift tickets for Christmas. Brent has been waiting to use them until I could go with him and I've been waiting until Nelmo will take a bottle. Well, Nelmo has had other plans and refuses to take a bottle. So we decided I wouldn't go after all. So Brent went with his Dad and we decided I'd bring them lunch halfway through the day so that Brent could take Chico down a little hill in his arms a few times. Well at about 11:00 Brent called and told me to come prepared to ski. Brent's dad hurt his ribs and didn't feel like skiing anymore but felt good enough to sit in the car with boys. Thankfully my feet are only a tiny bit smaller than Brent's and Brent's are only a tiny bit smaller than his dad's so I used Brent's ski's and boots and Brent used his dad's and I wore his dad's coat that had the pass on it. It was SO much fun to get back on the slopes with Brent. I was amazed that all the stuff he taught me came back so fast even though it had been a couple of years. I even went down a black diamond again! It was awesome! Thanks Dad for watching our kids for us! It was so nice of you!

Our Cute Kiddos

This is my cute little Chico. I've been wanting to do a portrait of him for some time now. I finally got him all ready when my backdrops were up. He smiled this first smile for me when I told him to.

And then he was a bit of a stinker the rest of the time.

A cute stinker though

An adorable stinker actually. :)

He promptly fell asleep 10 minutes after I finally gave up on the portrait session. That explains why he was being a stinker. :)

These pics of Nelmo were taken earlier that day when I was getting my lighting ready for a baby photo shoot. Nelmo was definitely in the mood to get his picture taken. I just LOVE how he scrunches up his nose when he gets excited!

If only I had combed his lusciously long scraggly hair. And put him in a cute outfit. Oh well, it wasn't his turn for a photo shoot this week. It was Chico's. :) Who knows, maybe someday I can try to do one of them together!? Nah, I don't trust Chico yet. :)

Snowpeople!

I finally did it! I made a snowman with Chico! In fact, I made one snowman and decided he looked lonely and needed a snowwoman.  (Actually I got rolling the middle part of the first snowman and by the time I got it next to the base it was bigger than the original base, so I decided to make two)  I happened to have these cute little hats and threw on some scarfs I had.  I couldn't figure out what to do for the eyes and we were kind of pressed for time so I grabbed some legos and threw them on. I tried to do some mouths but it was really really extremely difficult and then I ran out of time (Nelmo woke up and I had to get going to Webelos) SO they are mouthless.

I think they look like a grandma and grandpa. :)  And look, they're even holding hands!

I'm glad I got pictures of them when I did, because when I came back out to go to scouts, the man had fallen over. Bummer!

Cute Chico stuff:
My name is no longer Mommy... it is Momai with the emphasis on the dipthong (the "ai")

When we were driving around the other day whenever I would make a turn he'd go "weeeeee!"

I don't know if I've recorded this one before, but occasionally when we're driving he'll say, "Careful Daddy!" (or Mommy, depending on who is driving).  I think that's a definite sign that I'm a BAD backseat driver. It's a miracle Brent will let me drive with him anymore, if I were him I wouldn't let me drive with me.  He's just a much more patient and kind person than I am. In my defense, I've been considering going to counseling for my anxiety on the road. It's been almost 2 years since I got hit but I still think it's affecting me.

Chico's cousin's birthday is today and he's been singing happy birthday to her all morning!

Chico can sing all the words to "Baa Baa Black Sheep".  When he was younger he'd insist that a sheep and goat are the same thing.  He's very particular about things and he WILL correct you if you say something wrong.  He calls our 4Runner a Truck.  If you accidentally call it "the car" he will correct you and say, "No! The truck!".

kinda feel like typing

I feel like writing right now even though my kitchen is beckoning for me to come clean it.  Chico is asleep on the couch, Nelmo is laying on the floor trying his darndest to sit up from a laying position.  So cute.
I have been looking at recipes planning my menu for the week.  You know what, I really like cooking. And you know what, someday I'm going to have a little link thing at the top of this blog that says "our favorite recipes" and then it will link you to fabulous pictures of fabulous foods that we have grown to love.  And you know what, some of those recipes will be created by yours truly.  I like saving money for our family by cooking.  I have grown to really love baking bread even though it is cheating by using a bread machine, it still tastes fabulous. :) I'm going to try to make bagels next... we'll see how that goes.

The boys are both slowly getting better. I have to say, I think they really should come up with something different for giving babies antibiotics for ear infections.  Talk about torture for my baby and for us.
I'm thinking of getting thick bangs that sweep to the side slightly.  I hated my bangs last time I had them because they were too thin I think.  What do you think?
I have little cracks all over my hands, it's been like that most of the winter but they've gotten to the point where it hurts to even do simple every day tasks. Anybody have any remedies they want to share?

Back to the kids...
Chico looked totally rockin at the library today.  He was in his dinosaur pajama pants with his tools shirt cowboy boots and sunglasses.  And you know what, I was okay with it.  He's 2, and he's adorable. I'm trying to remember he's still a toddler and not try to make him grow up too soon.

Chico's little brother is pretty rockin too...
